Careers Advice

Careers Advice Helpline

If you're aged 13 to 19 you can contact a Careers Adviser for information, advice and support on a range of issues affecting young people. This is a free service provided by the government.

Advisers are there to offer careers information, advice and support to 13-19 year olds between 8am and 10pm seven days a week.


There are different ways to get in touch with the National Careers Service:

  • Call the Careers Advice Helpline to talk in confidence on 0800 100 900. From 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week. Calls are free from landlines and most mobile numbers.
  • Webchat - chat with an adviser using webchat from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week.

  • Online Form (you need an email address to receive a reply)

  • Talk to an Adviser Live - every Wednesday on Facebook from 6PM until 9PM.
