Craft and Technician Advanced L2 Apprenticeship

37 hours per week. Monday - Thursday 07.30 - 12.00, 12.30 - 1530. Friday : 07.30 - 12.00, 12.30 - 15.00. Apprentices may have alternative and longer working hours for their college days.
One of the largest and versatile Aerospace and Defence companies, they appreciate the importance and value created by apprenticeships and have delivered engineering training programmes and apprenticeships for more than 90 years. This Level 2 Apprenticeship will be in the following areas of the company group: Semi Skilled Fitter, Electrical/Avionic and Mechanical. The initial foundation training, involving both practical and theory work, takes place in their modern and well-equipped AeroAcademy workshop. YEAR 11s and above may apply.
You will have an initial 6 or 7 months foundation training undertaken in a dedicated workshop. After this initial training, you will transfer to the main work place to learn from experienced engineers and work towards a Level 2. Other required qualifications, such as technical certificates, are obtained through study at local colleges or delivered on site. Equivalent to one day a week training.
You will need 5 GCSE's at Scores 4-9 (A-D) which must include Maths, English and Science.
You should have good spelling, grammar and spoken communication, and must be able to demonstrate integrity, enthusiasm and dedication. Opportunities for further personal development are available following completion of the apprenticeship programme. Many apprentices become aircraft mechanical or electrical/avionics fitters or mechanical or electrical/avionics design engineers. Some go on to study for degrees and other engineering qualifications.
31st January 2017. Applicants will need to provide appropriate documentation demonstrating their right to work in the UK. Successful candidates will join the company in September 2017 with apprenticeship contracts whilst on the programme.
