Volunteering in sport

Sport relies on 2 million volunteer officials, coaches, administrators and managers. Without them, sport wouldn't happen and sports clubs could not function.

If you're interested in volunteering in a sports club, the first step is to contact a  local club or find a new one on the LIVING SPORT's club database or our things to do page. When you have approached the club, you need to arrange to meet them to discuss what you can offer and what their volunteer needs are. Depending on your age the club may need to do a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check on you and hopefully they will be able to give you a role description so you know what is expected of you. Roles can include volunteer sports coach, volunteer official and more.

You can also find volunteer stories on the LIVING SPORT website simply by following this link to their volunteers page.
