Dealing with anger
If you lose your temper or get violent and angry easily, you need to deal with these feelings. It's not always wrong to get angry but it is wrong to take out your anger on others.
Learn to recognise the signs that you are about to 'explode' and think about what are you going to do next time you feel you are losing your temper?
Here are some useful tips:
- Get away from the situation or person that is making you angry
- Take several deep breaths and count to 10
- Exercise helps let off steam
- Practise simple relaxation exercises. Check out the NHS website for relaxation exercises.
If you feel that your anger is getting out of control you can talk to a teacher or youth worker about it.
