Race for Life

On 30th June young people, youth workers and teachers from Wisbech and Chatteris took part in the Race for Life at Ferry Meadows.

Some of the young people ran the race and have been training with teachers from Thomas Clarkson Community College for the past few months. Jim Grant who has been helping some of the girls with their training stated:

"I was so proud of the girls who took part in the recent race for life at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough. They put their heart and soul into training. They even enjoyed the extended pilates/yoga warm-up as a prelude to our 1 mile long circuits of the school field. I am a hardened sportsman, having done several London marathons and long-distance walks. I am not easily moved. I have to say that the girls' efforts brought a tear to my eye." - Jim Grant, Vice-Principal, Wisbech.

This is the second year running that youth workers and young people have participated in the Race for Life. All those involved thoroughly enjoyed the evening and raising money for a charity.

The girls are now planning a 10km run!
