Summer news from Chatteris and March

Over the summer holidays March & Chatteris Youth team have delivered a number of successful activities. The youth team have worked in partnership with Parent Support Advisors, Connexions workers and worked positively with external organisations and the local community.

All of the summer activities that were delivered have been a great success and we have received positive feedback from young people, families and individuals within the community.

Youth Clubs - Youth club sessions have been delivered at the local parks as this was requested by young people. This was effective as the young people led their sessions which encouraged them to develop new skills such as planning, leadership and organisation.

Hunstanton Trip - This was a trip for young people and families from the Chatteris/March area. People took part in sports on the beach as well as sightseeing.

Thorpe Park trip - Young people enjoyed their day to Thorpe Park and they liked having the responsibility and independence throughout the day.

Sandlewood Farm residential - 14 young people attended the residential and participated in the activities delivered. This residential encouraged and provided young people to learn and develop new skills and also their personal development focusing on confidence and communication skills by meeting new people.

Equine Day - The equine day was held on Thursday 12th August at Sandlewood farm, a small group of young people participated and engaged in the horse husbandry, grooming and riding.

Picnic in the park - A large number of young people took part in a number of picnics in Chatteris, Manea and Marchand enjoyed sports and activities.

Jamming & Music promo workshops - This took place over three afternoons and was supported by Momentum Arts, Young People March and Fenland Arts.  31 young people attended the afternoons wiring which they filmed their stunts and tricks at their local skate park, produced a soundtrack for the film using a range of instruments such as drums, guitars keyboard etc.
