During February half term the St Neots Streets Sports group visited Wembley stadium to go on a tour. The trip was made possible through funding from Young Lives in which Stuart Gatwood, Josh Draper and Dan Housden were successful in their presentation and received the funding.
Street sports is a club where a range of young people meet every Thursday at 3.30pm to play football and make new friends. Street sports is a good opportunity for young people who don’t play for a team to play football regularly.
Our trip to London didn’t get off to a good start as our coach broke down just outside the Hatfield tunnel on the A1 and we had to wait for a replacement. Finally we made it to Wembley 2 hours late and fortunately we were still allowed to continue with our tour despite being late.
We all go to see and hold a replica FA Cup and some of us kissing it too. We also enjoyed being able to in the England changing rooms where the players prepared before big matches at Wembley.
Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the opportunity to see inside England home ground.
