The fundraiser is hoping to help to raise £5,000 to fund a ‘revolutionary’ clinical research project at Cancer Research UK’s Cambridge Institute.

Cancer Research UK and the Cambridge Institute, based near Addenbrooke’s Hospital, are looking to raise £100,000 in 12 months to help pay for the testing of a new imaging technique, which could show if cancer drugs are working on a patient within a day or two of a treatment starting.

Currently, patients have to wait weeks, often months, before knowing if a treatment is working or not – and the delay can dramatically impact their survival chances.
