Want to be a Firefighter? Have a Go Event

Are you 18+? Have you ever considered a career as a firefighter? Have a go at these upcoming taster sessions taking place in Peterborough and Huntingdon (places must be booked).

Friday, 28th September 2018 at Dogsthorpe Fire Station (in Peterborough)

Saturday, 29th September at Huntingdon Fire Station.

The events are aimed at encouraging women and people from a variety of backgrounds to have a go at firefighting activities as part of a myth busting event to demonstrate what it takes to be a firefighter in Cambridgeshire.

Dogsthorpe Event

The event at Dogsthorpe Fire Station will be split into two sessions each day.

8.30am until 12:00pm and 12.30pm until 4:00pm, with a women only session in the morning, followed by a mixed session in the afternoon.

Huntingdon Event

On Saturday at Huntingdon Fire station, the day will also be split, with a mixed session in the morning from 8.30am until 12:00pm and a women only afternoon session from 12:30pm until 4:00pm.

By signing-up you will be able to try out some of the activities that a firefighter needs to be able to do, including climbing a ladder and taking part in some of the drills. You will also get the opportunity to meet some of those who already do the job and find out more about their journeys to becoming a firefighter.
