Get Involved and Shape Your City

Saturday, 29th September 2018

From 09:30AM until 4:30PM

The Guildhall, Market Square, Cambridge, CB2 3QJ

What is it all about?

Have you ever looked at a public space in Cambridge city centre and thought it was ugly, neglected or difficult to get around? This is your chance to voice your opinion and help the Greater Cambridge Partnership to improve and Shape Your City.

They are looking for 12–19 year olds who want to get creative and work with city planners and landscapers to develop innovative ideas and solutions during this free activity day.

There will be prizes for the winning team and refreshments throughout the day.

On the day

There will be a short presentation to set the scene and outline the challenge ahead of you. This will be followed by a short tour of the city centre to survey the public spaces that need improvement – so please wear comfortable shoes.

You will work with other young people to analyse your chosen urban space and brainstorm ways to improve the look, accessibility and way it is used. Your team will work closely with a mentor to develop and refine your chosen idea over the course of the afternoon.

Each team will then have the opportunitiy to present their ideas to a panel of judges, who will choose the overall winners.

Please register for the event on the Event Brite website.

Please wear sensible shoes on the day.

Lunch is provided on the day.
