Minimum wage

Currently (as of 1 October 2016) the National Minimum Wage (NMW) is :

If you are under 18 the NMW is £4.00 per hour

If you are aged 18-20 the NMW is £5.55 per hour

If you are aged 21-24 the NMW is £6.95 per hour

If you are aged 25 or over the NMW is £7.20 per hour

Apprentices who are under 19 or in the first year of their apprenticeship should be paid a minimum of £3.40 per hour.

If you are of compulsory school age you are not entitled to the NMW.
