29/11/2018 - Can I change Sixth Forms?

13/12/18 - Female, 16 :

I am a year 12 student, is it too late to change my 6th form provider? From January my current school is making ridiculous changes to one of my subjects resulting in me having to travel to another school to be taught where there isn't even a 6th form and also they are unable to provide transport home for me on one evening per week despite my parents paying for a private bus to and from school.

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

Yes, you would be able to change your 6th form provider, so as long as the other provider you have in mind is offering the same syllabus.† It would be important you check with the provider about what they can and canít offer you to be totally sure.

The Youth Support Centre offer confidential support to young people by providing information, advice, guidance and practical help on a wide range of topics including post 16 courses and options. They will be able to offer you advice on College courses and could support you in contacting them for further advice.†

I can see from your postcode that your closest centre would be Young People March, The Centre City Road, March, Cambridgeshire, PE15 9LS.† You can contact them on either 01354 750349 or 01354 750360 or youthsupport.march@cambridgeshire.gov.uk to book an appointment.†
