Various hours available. You will need to be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week.

Job Description:

Would you like to work for a Non Profit Charity offering a different kind of care to carers? They have vacancies for carer support workers in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough that provides respite care and support for carers. Your time with the client will be anything from 45 minutes to 1 to 5 hours, so the carer can leave their loved one to go shopping, go to the hairdresser's or just have a rest elsewhere in the home. You will be providing and assisting carers and people with care needs for all age groups from children through to older people providing both 1:1 care and group care, providing personal and social care whilst respecting confidentiality at all times.

Training:

You will receive expert training and support for diplomas and degrees in health and social care as well as other professional qualifications. You will have a tailored induction programme, and then at least 12 hours work shadowing with a supervisor and a 24 hour emergency phone line if you need support when with a client. Equivalent to one day per week training.

Qualifications:

You should have a kind, caring and empathetic nature, a good sense of humour, be sensitive to the needs of others and be able to be physically fit for the job. You will also need to be able to train to complete an NVQ qualification. As the area covered is largely rural, applicants will require a current driving licence and have access to their own transport (although do not be put off applying if you do not have a car as the company may be able to help with transport if you have a current driving licence).

Prospects:

The opportunity to become a qualified Health and Social Care Practitioner. Also for the right candidate there is the opportunity to progress with the company.

Additional Information:

All applications are subject to references and enhanced DBS disclosures, 28 days holiday pro rata inc bank holidays (additional 2 days after 5 years service). Opportunities for enhanced pay rates dependant on experience, performance and qualifications. Training time paid for.
