Job Description:

The purpose of this job is to support the charity with the aim of Equality for disabled people by helping individuals to achieve their personal goals. You will be placing an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people. You will developing a greater understanding of disability issues and the values of the charity and demonstrating these in your work. You will supporting individuals with complex needs in all aspects of their lives including social, educational and emotional development. You will promote effective communication learning about the communication needs of individuals with complex needs and techniques and tools to aid communication. You will support individuals to deal with changing circumstances in order to make sure that they can enjoy a full and productive life in line with their needs and wishes. You will getting to know individuals, supporting them to make day to day decisions and to gain maximum benefit from their development opportunities. You will enable individuals to maintain and maximise their comfort and self-esteem. You will work as a member of a team in order to develop good working practice and ensure that the team works well together.

Training:

In house training and for the right candidate the opportunity to gain Diploma level 2 and 3. They will also support you to undertake other courses for the post that will include moving and handling, epilepsy awareness and medication training.

Qualifications:

The employer has said no experience necessary. They are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, caring individuals who are keen to learn new skills and support disabled adults live independently. You will be able to communication with all levels of staff and their customers. You should be able to work seamlessly across department or team boundaries in a collaborative and constructive manner. You will demonstrate a commitment to service excellence and deliver against the requirements of the charity quality framework. You will demonstrate you can support customers to achieve positive outcomes and enable them to participate as full and active citizens in their local community.

Prospects:

Starting a career in Health and Social care could lead to gaining Diploma level 2 and 3 whilst also gaining so many other skills. They will also support you to undertake training for the post that will include moving and handling, epilepsy awareness, medication training to name a few.
