Job Description:

Predominantly you will be working within the office environment, however you will have the opportunity to see working construction sites. You will work under the close supervision of senior colleagues and the nature of the work can be fast paced to meet the client and project deadlines. As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will be actively involved across all stages of a project. Right from the initial project definition and brief, to design cost appraisal, through to procurement, construction and building use, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients working in teams, alongside other construction professionals (Architects, Engineers and the like).

Training:

The company will support you towards a degree in Quantity Surveying through distance learning. On the job technical Quantity Surveying training will be provided including mentoring by an experienced Quantity Surveyor. Successful candidates will eventually be encouraged and supported to achieve chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Qualifications:

The role requires sound logic, analytical and excellent communication skills. You can expect to be given responsibility, and will need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team, all whilst receiving the guidance and support to allow you to develop. No relevant experience is necessary. The position is ideally suited to school leavers at A-Level standard (or equivalent) who can demonstrate: Minimum 230 UCAS points (or equivalent). Minimum of grade 'C' Maths & English GCSE (or equivalent). Show an aptitude towards good logic, analytical and numerical skills. Demonstrate an interest in and a desire to pursue a career in Quantity Surveying. Commitment to continued education and improvement through on-the-job learning and training opportunities. You must also be English language proficient and have excellent communication skills.
