Apprentices 2018






You will receive a salary of £10,500 for the first 12 months (increasing in month 13 depending on your age).


35 hours per week.



Job Description:

This is an 'Earn and Learn' Apprenticeship opportunities. Ever considered an Apprenticeship with a large hospital in Cambridge? This trust is proud of its Apprenticeship Scheme with a success rate of over 80% of Apprentices obtaining substantive contracts during or following the completion of their apprenticeships. They have vacancies in the following roles: Carpentry (Estates and Facilities), Finance (AAT), Lab Technician/ Healthcare Science and Admin/ Customer Service - including patient facing and back office. These apprenticeships range between intermediate and advanced (Level 2 and 3) and can include public or patient facing roles and/or back office, behind the scenes work. No previous hospital or related work experience is necessarily required. You will work alongside other admin, clinical and support staff who will support, train and mentor you as well as receiving day release regularly to study towards your apprenticeship and gain additional knowledge relevant to the workplace.


You will study for an NVQ ranging between intermediate and advanced (Level 2 and 3). Equivalent to one day training a week.


There are no desired qualifications for this apprenticeship but a grade D in GCSE Maths and C in English (or equivalent) would be favourable (If you do not have any qualifications for literacy or numeracy a test can be taken, so this should not put you off applying). You should have experience of prioritising and organisation of work (This can be attained at school, college, through work). You should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work to specific deadlines. The opportunity to gain experience in a medical setting whilst completing a qualification. Towards the end of the apprenticeship you will be supported to apply for permanent vacancies and if successful the opportunity to progress onto further qualifications.

Additional Information:

25th March 2018. These apprenticeships offer a full time fixed term contract ranging between 13 and 18 months. You will work in a fixed area whilst learning the role and the Apprenticeship.
