Job Description:

You will be working for an engineering and manufacturing company with a passion for developing practical, well designed engineering solutions. Their engineering team is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Project Engineer to focus on product design and development.
You will be part of the team that design of their crash test dummies (Anthropomorphic Test Devices) which are used in sophisticated tests within the automotive industry.
Your responsibilities will include: Deliver engineering designs, taking method of manufacturing into account; Training will be provided to understand their products and processes. You will support projects, taking a lead when necessary. You will assist in the writing of technical documents, reports and presentations for both internal and external use (work instructions, job packs, etc.). You will research and investigate technologies and processes to ensure that the Company remains aware of latest developments. You will ensure technical specifications are available for all relevant project and production equipment/ materials. You will identify and source Regulations and Standards to support product development. This job also involves a degree of hands-on work so it would suit someone who is keen to spend time in the test lab or within their production department to ensure the products meet the required specifications and standards.

Training:

In house training and for the right the candidate there will be the opportunity to gain accredited qualifications. Equivalent to one day a week.

Qualifications:

The suitable candidate will have a higher apprenticeship in engineering. Ideally you will have some familiarity with Solidworks and you will be keen to learn new skills from very experienced engineers. You will be eager to cement the theory you learned in your studies and apply it in practice. You will have access to their manufacturing facilities so you will be able to follow the journey of your drawings from conception to production.
