Clinical Support Staff






£17,460 to £18,702 per annum, pro rata.


Permanent - Full and Part Time hours plus bank opportunities.



Job Description:

They have fantastic opportunities for Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW), Theatre Support Workers (TSW) and Maternity Care Assistants (MCA) to join their teams across the Trust on a permanent contract or flexible registration via our Staff Bank. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be working in one of their wards/clinical areas on a full time or part time permanent/ bank contract. You may be required to work a variety of rotational shift patterns which include days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. The divisions you could work in is: Division A - Comprises of musculoskeletal diseases, digestive diseases, and perioperative care (adult critical care, theatres and anaesthesia). Division C - Comprises of acute medicine, inflammation/infection, transplant, the emergency department (ED), acute medicine and medicine for the elderly. Division D - Comprises of neuroscience, ENT (ear nose and throat), H&N (head and neck)/plastic surgery and cardiovascular-metabolic medicine. Division E - Comprises of four directorates that includes medical specialties, surgical specialties, paediatrics including paediatric critical care, obstetrics and gynaecology.


In house training and for the right candidate there would be the opportunity to study for further qualifications relevant to the role. Equivalent to one day a week training.


You should have a good standard of Literacy and Numeracy (you will be given an assessment) and hold a Care Certificate (NCC) or willing to work towards this Certificate. You will be able to demonstrate verbal and non-verbal communication skills. You will understand the importance of confidentiality and demonstrates a knowledge of how it can be maintained. Understand what makes effective teamwork. You will also understand the importance of good time keeping.


The opportunity to gain experience as a Healthcare Support Worker in a hospital setting. This role can lead to further development opportunities such as; a progression pathway into Nursing or senior HCSW roles.
