Job Description:

The company is a leading building services engineering consultancy, with over 200 mechanical and electrical engineers. Specialising in bespoke solutions they offer their services to a wide range of market sectors including healthcare, education, research, local government, pharmaceutical and commercial clients. The company is looking to recruit exceptional and highly motivated Trainee Engineers to join their thriving, well established company. The role will entail working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. As a Building Services Engineering Apprentice you will design mechanical and electrical engineering services within exciting construction projects across the UK. You will learn how buildings are heated, ventilated & illuminated, and understand water heating and cooling. You will work within a friendly team within an office 4 days per week and attend College 1 day per week, gaining professional qualifications. You will work on a wide variety of landmark Projects, across a range of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, industrial, education and residential, such as universities and hospitals. Using sophisticated computer software you will create 3D models detailing how buildings function. You will learn engineering calculation procedures & apply the laws of physics to control building function. You will assist with writing project reports. After a few year's experience you will attend client and design team meetings with Architects, Cost Consultants, Master Planners, Ecologists, Contractors, Acousticians and Fire Consultants. You will see opportunity to visit the construction sites in a supervised manner to see the buildings through various stages of construction.

Training:

In house training. You gain the following accredited qualifications: Level 3 Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineer (if required); Level 4 Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineer. Level 5 Building Services Engineering and/or Degree-Building Services Engineering and/or M Eng (Optional based on performance) or Electrical Engineer.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE's or equivalent at grade C/5 or above in Maths, Science and English, OR You should hold 2 A Levels, one of which should be Maths, Science or Design subjects, OR BTEC L3 in a relevant subject technologies, construction methods and building design. You must be enthusiastic to earn whilst you learn. You will have strong numerical skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to work effectively within a team. You will have an interest in using computer software; and excellent verbal and written communication skills. An interest in environmental sustainability.
